Mission
The mission of Mi Gente Together Foundation is to enhance mental health awareness, reduce mental health related stigma and increase access to mental health treatment and emotional support services, especially among immigrant and underserved communities.
By offering mental health and emotional support services, as well as adopting and implementing innovative strategies and campaigns, we strive to assist and meet people’s need la in a culturally sensitive way, strengthening our community one individual at a time.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to enhance the lives of those dealing with mental illnesses and facing emotional challenges by offering holistic, culturally competent, and wellness-focused care for individuals and families. We aim to eliminate mental health related stigma by providing a safe, loving, and compassionate space and promoting the mental and emotional well-being of migrant and underserved populations in schools, communities and social media.
History
The Foundation is born as an extension of the work carried out by Minds Together and as the philanthropic vehicle that will expand access to mental health programs for Latino, immigrant, and other historically underserved communities facing economic, cultural, linguistic, and social barriers to quality care.
Over the past seven years, Minds Together has worked alongside hundreds of individuals and families, offering clinical services, educational workshops, support groups, podcasts, and community activities aimed at promoting emotional well-being and reducing the stigma associated with mental health. That experience revealed a persistent need: many people continue to lack access to adequate services simply because they cannot afford them, or because there are no alternatives that respond to their language, culture, and lived reality.
With that vision, Mi Gente Together Foundation began to take shape — a project developed over the past year with the support and expertise of Minds Together. Today, with the approval of its 501(c)(3) status, the Foundation will be able to establish philanthropic partnerships, mobilize resources, and develop free or low-cost programs directed at communities with the greatest need.
